Focus and Scope

Geography Research Forum (GRF) is an international refereed scholarly journal. Published since 1979, GRF is Israel's only English-language geographical journal.
GRF specializes in guest-edited topic issues dealing with all fields of human geography and multi-disciplinary topics of direct relevance. The journal is keen to publish papers on both Israeli and international topics.

Peer Review Process

The practice of peer review is to ensure that only good science is published. It is an objective process at the heart of good scholarly publishing and is carried out by all reputable scientific journals. Our referees play a vital role in maintaining the high standards of Geography Research Forum and all manuscripts are peer reviewed.

Manuscript evaluation
Geography Research Forum specializes in special issues that are compiled and edited by invited guest editors who are prominent experts in their fields. The guest editors are normally approached by the chief editor to decide on a particular central topic. An independent submission of a proposal for a special issue is also welcome.

The guest editor is then soliciting topics and abstracts from authors who themselves are eminent figures in that field.

Manuscripts submitted by the contributing authors are then peer-reviewed by the guest editor in collaboration with one of the other participant authors or with an external reviewer of his/her choice. The final decision on acceptance of a commissioned manuscript is at the discretion of the guest editor in collaboration with the chief editor.

Publication Frequency

Geography Research Forum currently publishes one guest-edited topic issue per year
